"I believe that to meet the challenge of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for his or her own self, family or nation, but for the benefit of all mankind. Universal responsibility is the real key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace, the equitable use of natural resources and, through concern for future generations, the proper care of the environment." - Dalai LamaLike to weave a few threads from discussions at different palces (mostly Zaadz) for my readers here. The word 'currency' captures the alive quality and function of flow, circulation and exchange better than the word money. (see
word origin of some common economic terms).
Ho did we come to this moment of great crisis/opportunity in the history of humankind now?

Adriaan: Your observation is keen. I like you conclusion also. The world bank and the IMF, will both fight you on this and they have a lot of power and wealth. However, people in great numbers are also powerful. I feel your ideas could work. It's possible that a non-dollar currency based on gold or gold and silver could sustain growth and provide stability. You will have to get the word out to a lot of people in order to gain momentum for this policy. The Austrian School of Economics has done a lot of work on this subject. You might check out Ludwig von Mises for more information and a helping hand.
I will promote the Aurum in my comments and conversations.
